New Renault Kangoo Van Gets Upgraded Diesel Engine

New Renault Kangoo Van 24
Nov 15

Extra trim levels, more standard equipment and cleaner engines

What is it?

Kangoo, a small commercial van by French auto manufacturer Renault has been refreshed. It has received two new trim levels, more standard equipment and of course much cleaner, Euro 6-compliant diesel engines.

These new trim levels are:

Business as the entry-level and Business + as the top of the range level. That’s not all, the buyers have now the optional all-electric Kangoo model, if they really love the quiet ride.

What is under the bonnet?

A choice of electric or diesel engines where the diesel models will have the power outputs ranging from 74 to 109 bhp while the electric model will have 59 bhp.

The diesel models will return the combined fuel economy between 50.4 and 67.3mpg and the CO2 emissions will be between 110 and 130g/km. The electric models will be emitting no CO2 so they’ll fall into the lowest tax brackets.

Who is it going up against?

The prime rivals of Renault Kangoo in the compact van class will be the legendary Ford Transit Connect, Mercedes Citan, and Volkswagen Caddy. With all the revisions done to Kangoo, it has a pretty good chance to make its place.

The equipment and price

On Business models, full steel bulkhead, USB connectivity, DAB radio, an auxiliary port and a full-adjustable driver’s seat. The all-electric Z.E. models will be available in this trim level only.

If you want to upgrade to Business + trim level, you will have to pay an extra £700 and you’ll get electrically-operated folding door mirrors, air-conditioning, one-touch electric front windows and rear parking sensors.

As compared to previous models, the pricing for this new model is unchanged. The entry-level models are set at a price of £13,200 and the most expensive Z.E is set at £18,062.
