A Deep look into the specs of Volkswagen Touareg 2017

Volkswagen Touareg 2017

The upcoming model of the Volkswagen Family was spied recently with its killer looks. The shots released on the internet clearly show that the car is close to T-Prime GTE concept that was first proposed at the Beijing motor show last year. It’s the new Volkswagen Touareg 2017.

Exterior design

The headlights are sleek giving a feeling of newness. The front of the car gives a compelling outer look with larger air vents making a style statement.

Inspecting the rear end of the car, it is obvious that the rear lights have been directly taken from the concept car. It will not be wrong to say that the SUV has a muscular outside.

Superpower Engine

Sources report that the VW’s Touareg will initially be launched with 3.2-litre TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol motor in some countries including China. The good news is that a plug-in hybrid will join the family soon after the release of the initial model.

VW Touareg GTE will have the same engine with the addition of an electric motor that will be powerful enough to reload the battery by taking a little extra effort from the combustion engine. The company claims that this engine will be so powerful that it will cover short distances by making use of electric power alone. This is a milestone achieved making it a next generation car.

Interior features

The inside of the cabin has the typical VW style and luxury. A touch screen mounted on the dash is the centre of all sorts of info and entertainment. It is a 15-inch large screen, same as the size of many laptops these days. The modern infotainment system is all set and ready to serve your needs. There is a noticeable increase in leg and head room in this car.

Even though the roof is a bit low, you will feel seats are also lowered. A tall adult can get enough space even in the back seats. The wide sunroof lets you have fresh breeze into the cabin whenever you are in a mood. The SUV is not going to get a seven-seat configuration, said a senior VW source. While the standard version will be out for sale soon, few features are given in the buyer’s hands. You can have your choice of colour for interior and exterior.

Outclass Infotainment system

The infotainment system has some serious upgrades that we needed to have a closer look on. Firstly, its design and placement are made to perfection. VW Touareg screen is large and takes up a large space on the dash, making it prominent.

The Bigger display is also easy to operate and it is tilted towards the driver a bit. All important functions including satellite navigation, audio system, weather reports are just a touch away. The driver can easily swipe through apps which sit on the desktop in the form of “tiles”. The user can customise the display as per their preferences same like we do on smartphones. There is also a home button to return to the main screen, another feature borrowed from smartphones.
