Daihatsu Engine History
A century ago, the Hatsudoki Seizo Company changed its name to Daihatsu Motor Co but the brand name was not used itself on any vehicle produced till 1951. The Daihatsu was involved in manufacturing the small sized cars and they initially introduced the low priced three wheelers with the small engines before the release of four wheelers in the 1958. Cleverly positioned brand and the small capacity cars, reigned the Daihatsu's market over the small auto Asian category with Domino and Charade models being among the most successful models in the Asian Market. They were first Japanese who gained access to European markets especially the United Kingdom. However, the Daihatsu was formed in 1951 as a successor of Hatsudoki Seizo Co. Ltd, founded in 1907 but in 1960s, they regularly started exporting their range to Europe but they did not have a great success in sales however, they were getting better in 1980s. In 1992, Toyota Motors started distributing the Daihatsu models as part of its North American Distribution. Daihatsu has announced that they are pulling off from Europe by 2013.
