Renault Engine History

Renault was a family business initially when Louis Renault and his brothers founded the company in 1898 and they quickly proved their existence in the market by notching up the bunch of victories in motor racing through their Voiturettes. In 1905, the Renault Company has started the mass production techniques and the customization strategies for the tailor made cars in 1913. They exclusively took part in the World War I and produced many different vehicles like trucks, ambulances, stretchers and the shells; however the most famous success of the Renault was their FT 17 tank that was an unforgettable factor in the final victory. In 1929, Renault started modernising their premises and built up their first production line at Billancourt. They were struggling regarding the costs due to economic crisis and weather conditions but the social conditions got worse where Louis considered that the World War II and conflicts with the Germans were a big mistake and he gave into the demands of German forces. Resultantly, Renault was nationalised in 1945 and renamed as the Regie Nationale Des Usines Renaulet or simply the RNUR. As anational corporation of the France now Renault modernised their plants and building sites to conquer the US market but they failed however they never stopped their domestic expansion and introduced their 4CV first small car for all purpose and it was then followed by two new models of Renault4 and Renault5 respectively. They continue to growing up till 1980s, and introduced several models including Renault 16 and Renault25 followed by many others. They were participating in the formula one racing but they lost a lot much money there so they initiated a cost cutting strategy and refocused on internal core skills and they were back in the black. In 1987, Renault considered a merger with VOLVO but it was not a successful story and dropped in 1993. Renault was privatised in 1996 that was a milestone in the history of the company and they took their stakes in the Nissan in 1999, it was the advantage of their newfound freedom. They were now on the track of success and continued innovating and renewing their range of offers and then the success of the Renault in the Formula 1 raised their profile up into the skies. Renault-Nissan alliance developed new synergies to consolidate the structure of the company, however the internal expansion of the Renault was continued through the acquisition of the Dacia and Samsung Motors. Renault launched the strategy to take over the emerging markets that successfully positioned the company as Europe's most profitable carmakers in 2009 and in the command of Carlos Ghosn president of Nissan and Louis Schweitzer head of Renault; company was enjoying unfailing success in the emerging markets. First electric vehicle was launched in 2011 however the Kangoo Z.E, Fluence Z.E and the Twizy were launched in the same year. ZOE was launched in 2013.
