Volvo is a Swedish multinational company that is engaged in manufacturing of automobiles and many other services. It has its headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. Volvo was established in 1915, as the subsidiary of AB SKF, a ball bearing producing company. In 1927, they introduced the first Volvo car OV 4-series that is known as Jakob. It was registered to be used for the special series of ball bearings, however, after a short period SKF decided to use SKF as trademark for all its products and in 1924, company started its production of Swedish cars. Until 1926, the company was just busy doing research and development and they produced ten prototypes the very next year. Volvo started manufacturing cars within the SKF business group. The company was introduced at Stockholm stock exchange in 1935 and it was the time when SKF sold its shares in the company. In 2007, Volvo was delisted from the NASDAQ but remain listed in Stockholm stock exchange. The Volvo Company sold its car division to the Ford Motor Company for $6.45 billion.
